When Should You Get Your Car Serviced?

There are two main types of service that it is advisable to have performed on your vehicle, an Interim Service and a Full Service.

Interim Service.

An Interim Service should be carried out every 6 months or after 6000 miles, whichever is sooner. This will allow a trained professional to make sure your car is in a safe and roadworthy condition. Some of the things they will be looking at include, checking bodywork for damage, checking the condition of the windscreen and mirrors, exhaust checked for leaks and looking over the condition of the tyres to make sure they are legal and roadworthy. There is a lot more included in the Interim Service and you can speak to any of our mechanics to find out what else they will be looking for.

Full Service.

It is recommended that a Full Service of your vehicle is carried out every 12,000 miles or 12 months, again whichever comes first. A properly trained mechanic could be able to spot any potential damage early and therefore minimise the cost should something go wrong with your car. A Full Service will include everything looked for in an Interim Service but will also look at the door hinges, catches and locks, checking the spark plugs, the wheel bearings and much more.
